CCS811 is an ultra-low power digital gas sensor solution in a small 2.7 mm x 4 mm LGA package. This sensor integrates a metal oxide (MOX) gas sensor for monitoring indoor air quality (IAQ), as well as a microcontroller unit (MCU) and analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The communication adopts the digital way through I²C interface. The lower power consumption makes CCS811 an ideal choice for battery-like and wearable applications before smartphones, medical and air monitoring.
The CCS811 air quality breakout board uses digital gas sensor solution to detect a wide range of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), including equivalent carbon dioxide (eCO2) and metal oxide levels. For indoor air quality monitoring, these sensors provide parts per million (PPM) CO2 readings and parts per billion (PPB) TVOC readings. These two ingredients are usually classified as pollutants and / or sensory irritants, and may come from various indoor sources such as building materials (paints, carpets, etc.), machines (copiers, crafts, etc.), and even people (breathing, cigarette Wait).
